the cloudy and windy conditions atop mount tamalpais above marin county. our meteorologist, mike nicco, is tracking the storm with live doppler 7 hd. >> thank you very much. winter storms are a big deal but this is a big deal because we have not had significant rain and a record-setting year for the least amount of rain if most of our bay area neighborhoods. live doppler 7 hd shows it is quiet here to the north and the west. there are a few radar returns showing up but it is the radar hitting the clouds because it is far enough away it is the precipitation moving to the ground. individual storms moving from southwest to northeast and the higher lines are slowly sinking to the south. here is why we need the rain. the reason season runs from july 1st of last year through june 30th and we are three inches in the hole in livermore and four in san jose and the airport and santa rosa is five inches below where we should be. here is what will happen. my storm highlights: steady rain tonight, showers and snow wednesday through friday morning. we could get more rain from this system than we had
